This weekend, while at the blackjack table I saw probably one of the dumbest moves I've seen in a long time.
Hitting on a 17!!!
Stupid kid not only busted with a 27 but also took the dealers bust card away, and that dealer 12 turned into a 19, beating the entire table rather than a 22 and a table win.
Selfish? Yes
Stupid? Definitely
This was just a common theme this weekend and AC, a place where players usually have a basic understanding of the game, looked more like the Bethlehem Sands, where every novice and moron comes to play.
Frustrating? You bet?
You just don't expect this level of stupidity.

WoW. Almost as bad as when I saw a guy double down on a 20!!! Safe to say he busted! lol
ReplyDeleteI recently went to the new Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. Everyone was standing on 12-15 even when the dealer was showing 7+. I felt like I was in a bizarro world, and I missed some dealer busts because of it. I'm guessing it was due to the relatively new venue in the city attracting rookies. The Rivers Casino needs some work.

It gets old...and frustrating. similar situation over here in eastern PA (Bethlehem Sands) Inexperienced gamblers with no knowledge, doing stupid things similar to what RJS was talking about..so frustrating
